Thank You

This is a very big thank you to all of our guests. Thank you for making our day so special for us, and for giving us some great memories. There was only one thing we wanted from the day beforehand - for people to enjoy themselves - we hope you did!

We'd also like to say an even bigger thank you for all the donations made to charity on our behalf. We raised over £1400 through the online donations on the website alone! We also had donations made to a number of other charities, including Amnesty International and the British Heart Foundation. Thank you all for helping us make a difference to these charities - it really made us happy to be able to do so. The charities that we directly supported (and why) are listed below.

Lots of love,

Chris and Annie

Cancer Research UK

One of the people who was missing from the ceremony was Annie's mum, who died of cancer over 10 years ago (we had a candle lit on the top table for her). The donations to Cancer Research UK were in her mum's memory. We couldn't have her at the wedding, but perhaps we can have helped some other families instead.

Diabetes UK

As some of you will know already, Chris lives relatively unimpeded by his Diabetes. This has been largely due to the advances in technology made in recent years. We would like to help others to be diagnosed earlier, have their symptoms treated more effectively, and perhaps even find a cure one day.

NSPCC

Chris has two daughters (and now Annie has two step-daughters) who were bridesmaids at the wedding. They have parents who love them very much, but some children are not as lucky, suffering neglect or abuse at the hands of the people who should be caring for them. Donations to the NSPCC were aimed at helping to improve the lives of these children.

Oxfam

We are lucky to live in a country where most people can take health, food, jobs and housing for granted. While we're deciding what to eat for tea, there are people who don't know when they will be next eating. Children are dying of diseases that have been preventable in the western world for a long time. We don't think this is acceptable. We spent a lot of money on this wedding which arguably could have been put to a better use - donations to Oxfam were to help us alleviate our consciences a little!
